Notice of the extension to non-parties of the Main Collective Agreement concluded in the Furniture Bargaining Council
The Minister of Employment and Labour has declared that the Main Collective Agreement which was concluded in the Furniture Bargaining Council as set out in the Schedule to this Notice be extended to non-parties.
The conditions specified in the agreement shall be binding on employers and employees in the Furniture, Bedding, and Upholstery Manufacturing Industry in the Provinces of Gauteng, North-West, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and Free State.
This agreement prescribes the minimum hourly rate of pay effective for 52 weeks for the above parties that shall become binding from the first full pay week in May 2023.
Notwithstanding the provisions of the scope of application of this agreement, it applies only to employees for whom wages are prescribed in this agreement and to the employers of such employees, and to learners under the Skills Development Act, 1998 or any contract entered into, or any conditions fixed thereunder.
The collective agreement comes into effect from the 3rd of July 2023 ending 30 April 2028.
