Newsflash! Cancellation of Registration of Transport Retail and General Workers Union (THORN)

The Registrar of Labour Relations, in terms of section 106(2B) of the Labour Relations Act No. 66 of 1995 (“the Act”), intends to cancel the registration of Transport Retail and General Workers Union (“the Union”) for the failure to comply with the provisions of sections 98, 99 and 100 of the Act, and for the Union ceasing to function as a genuine trade union as well as in terms of its constitution.

The Union or any other interested parties are invited to submit written representations as to why the registration should not be cancelled.

Submissions must be lodged to the Registrar of Labour Relations care of the Department of Employment and Labour, by post or email at registrar.labourrelations@labour.gov.za and mary.ngwetjana@labour.gov.za, within 60 days of the date of this Notice.
