Furniture Bargaining Council - Renewal of period of Operation

The Minister of Employment and Labour has, in terms of section 32(2) of the Labour Relations Act No. 66 of 1995, declared that the Collective Bargaining Fee Agreement which was concluded in the Furniture Bargaining Council will continue to apply. The collective agreement is renewed from 17 June 2024 for the period ending 30 April 2025.

The conditions specified therein shall be binding on the parties who concluded the collective agreement and on other employers and employees in the Furniture, Bedding and Upholstery Manufacturing Industry in the Provinces of Gauteng, Northwest, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and Free State.

The main functions of the Furniture Bargaining Council are overseeing the overall funds and benefits administration, compliance, enforcement and exemption of the various Collective Agreements concluded within its jurisdiction. Through collective agreements the council ensures uniform conditions of employment and wages to all companies within the Furniture, Bedding and Upholstery Industry.
