Newsflash! Cancellation of Registration of the Furniture Manufacturing Industry of the Eastern Cape
The Deputy Registrar of Labour Relations, in terms of section 109, read with section 61(7) of the Labour Relations Act No. 66 of 1995, has published a notice cancelling the registration of the Bargaining Council for the Furniture Manufacturing Industry of the Eastern Cape from 20 August 2024. The name of the Bargaining Council has been removed from the register of councils.
The cancellation takes effect if no appeal to the Labour Court is noted within Sixty (60) days on the expiry of that period or if the council or any party has appealed and the Labour Court has confirmed the decision of the registrar, on the date of the Labour Court’s decision.
If either event contemplated occurs, the registrar must cancel the council’s registration by removing the name of the council from the register of councils.
