National Bargaining Council of the Leather Industry of South Africa – Notice of extension of various agreements to non-parties

The Minister of Employment and Labour has declared that the following Collective Agreements which were concluded in the National Bargaining Council of the Leather Industry of South Africa, as set out in the Schedule to these Notices, be extended to non-parties as follows:

  1. General Goods and Handbag Sector Amending Collective Agreement
  2. Tanning Section Collective Amending Agreement
  3. Agency Shop Amending Collective Agreement for Employees

This means that the conditions specified therein shall be binding on the parties who concluded the agreements and on other employers and employees in that industry.

The Amending Collective Agreements come into effect as follows:

  • General Goods and Handbag Sector Amending Collective Agreement and the Tanning Section Collective Amending Agreement for the period 3 February 2025 ending 30 June 2026.
  • The Agency Shop Amending Collective Agreement for Employees for the period 3 February 2025 ending 30 June 2027.
